To choose the correct car to rent you have to consider the number of passengers that will be on it, the amount of luggage and of course the price. Think carefully which car applies your needs best. If you travel with children or with many luggages the right car for you is a large sedan. If you're simply looking to save money on rental rates and gas, you'll want to reserve the smallest available model. In case that you cannot choose yourselves just contact us and be sure that our rental agents will reserve for you the ideal car at the right price.

In general our company provides renters with the car that they reserve. If now that is not possible for some reason Go Rent a Car is obliged to deliver a similar type and engine sized car or even bigger without any extra cost (in case that renter picks up a larger car than the one reserved).

Our colleague will be waiting for you at the airport (for Heraklion and Chania airports only) outside the arrivals hall to make the delivery. In order to recognize him/her easily will have your name printed in a page.

In case our colleague cannot be present for the cars drop off at the airport (for Heraklion and Chania airports only) renter ought to use one of the designated parking spaces in order to return his car. These parking spaces are shown to renter when he picks up the car and are open 24/7. After renter parks his car in one of the parking areas he must give the car keys at the reception. Renter does not pay for the parking.

As long as renter has provided the company with the flight details has no obligation in case of delay (happens often especially in summer). On the other hand our colleague is obliged to wait as long as the flight lands to make the car delivery. At any case Go Rent a Car is already aware of flight delays and the exact landing time and that’s why we are always on time.

All companies’ vehicles are provided to renters with a full insurance package. However you must know that there is no insurance company around the globe that covers serious cases of traffic code violations such as driving drunk or under drugs, and violation of red traffic light. In that case renter is fully responsible for the rental cars damage and all others involved, if any. If an accident is not the result of the previous, renter is fully covered and he has no financial obligation to the company.

As far as it concerns glasses and windscreens is more than logical to have broken glasses in a car crash. What is not logical is the fact that somebody broke the cars glasses in order to steal a camera, a laptop or anything else that renter had left inside. In that case renter is responsible for the whole amount of the damage. After many years of experience in rental business our advice is: Nothing ever happens when a car is empty.
About the tires if renter has a flat tire and he drives the car, the tire is destroyed completely and cannot be repaired. As a result company must charge renter with its cost. Our advice is to contact us in case of a flat tire or replace it with the spare.
All Go Rent a Car vehicles are purposed to move on asphalt. That means you cannot rent a car from us to move off road for example going or safari or drive on the beach. If that happens and the car is damaged underneath renter is responsible for the cost of the damage and the car carrier.

Even though carjacks are not often in Crete all of our vehicles are insured for total Theft Protection. The same applies at all the parking areas that we cooperate. However if a car is stolen due to renters negligence for example because the car was unlocked and keys were left inside the renter will be liable, up to the total car's commercial value at the time of theft.

Of course car rentals for persons over 65 years old are possible as long as their driver’s license is valid and renewed within the past year. That means of course that no malfunction is occurred to the driver during that time or any other health problem that makes him incapable of driving.

As mentioned in Rental Terms all traffic fines resulting from violation of the Greek traffic law are for renter's account. So if renter gets for example a parking ticket he must take care of its payment and also copy the receipt for the rental company. What you must know is that in Greece all traffic fines are reduced in half as long as they are paid within 10 days. Payment can take place at every post office of the prefecture. In case renter departs without having paid the fine Go Rent a Car is obliged to provide the authorities with all the information required so as to charge renter with the fine at his home country.

After completing a car reservation you will receive an automated email containing a 5-digit PIN code. This code is used when you want to modify an active reservation as well as to have a complete history with your reservations.
