Chania Airport
Chania Airport (Chania State Airport Ioannis Daskalogiannis) is the second biggest airport in Crete. It took its name by the Cretan rebel Ioannis Daskalogiannis who fought against the Ottoman Empire in the 18th century. Together with Heraklion Airport, the two Crete Airports are the main gateways in the island.
Located on the Akrotiri peninsula about 20 minutes from Chania and serves approximately 2.5 million passengers annually to domestic and international flights.
